OTM x Im Dickicht der Stadt
Off the Menu was invited by the directors Maximilian Grünewald and Alexander Eisenach to collaborate on the series Im Dickicht der Stadt, a transdisciplinary project by the Residenztheater and Ludwig-Maximilian Universität that examines human-nature relationships. #3 was all about food and focused specifically on the history of the Wittelsbacher Wiese. The performance wandered through Munich’s Marstall Theater, each new act presenting a new perspective that then lead the audience (literally) up(stairs) to gather around a long table to taste the epochs of the Wittelsbacher Wiese, which were vividly portrayed by the landscape architect Fanny Brandauer and presented as a vegetable soup. In a cozy discussion Pepe served as the food studies expert, answering questions such as: When is food considered dirty? And Is it harmless to collect food on meadows and in forests? The series will continue with #4 Storytelling.
