Philine reviews ‘Ruin Their Crops on the Ground’

Gastronomica: The Journal for Food Studies has published Philine’s first book review in its 2025 Spring Issue. Her review of Andrea Freeman’s Ruin Their Crops on the Ground: The Politics of Food in the United States from the Trail of Tears to School Lunch traces the book’s account of how food has been used as a tool of oppression in the United States.
