OTM x S.AND Workshop in Augsburg

From July 16 - 18, 2025 the S.AND research group, based at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle, joined the Off the Menu team in Augsburg for a workshop on all things scale. During the three days, many unexpected connections between sandy grounds and watery creatures were discovered, good meals and stories shared, and an unusual altar decorated. The altar—a tablecloth now embellished with symbols and research souvenirs—is an (art)work in progress that will continue to transform and expand with each Off the Menu event.
