"Cooking the Books" at the 2025 ESEH

The third week of August, Sasha, Pepe, and Philine traveled to Uppsala for the European Society for Environmental History 2025 “Climate Histories” Conference, where they staged the session “Cooking the Books: A Culinary Conversation about Archives, Climate Histories, and Canned Futures.” Structured as a performative panel and as a cooking-com-talk show, the first act introduced food as a creative medium, the second recipes as historical sources, and the third the Off the Menu research group as a trio of culinary texts followed by three bite-size snacks.
